Smoke from Wildfire Park alerts for Around Brisbane

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) advises that a wildfire near Banksia Beach is still active but is within containment lines at present. As a result, smoke may be seen at or near Banksia Beach and Bongaree on Bribie Island. Affected parks: Bribie Island National Park and Recreation Area.

Access to Green Mountains section is via Lamington National Park Road ONLY Park alerts for Around Brisbane

Following significant damage from ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie, Duck Creek Road from Kerry remains closed until further notice, as advised by Scenic Rim Regional Council. The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) have also advised that Lamington National Park Road remains open, but is undergoing repairs, with temporary restrictions in place, as listed below. Affected parks: Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk; Lamington National Park.

Planned upgrade to Lamington National Park Visitor Facilities. Park alerts for Around Brisbane

Pending favourable weather conditions, planned upgrades to the Green Mountains Section of the Border Track, the Binna Burra Information Centre and the visitor car park at the end of Binna Burra Road will commence 14 January 2019 until further notice. Affected parks: Lamington National Park.
